Tracking time
Timer, manual entries, edit, split, and delete in the app.
The home page (/ or /timer) is where most users spend their day. Use the timer for live tracking or add and edit entries manually.
Common actions
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Start timer | On the timer card, pick a project and task key, then start. The entry runs until you stop it. |
| Stop timer | Stop the running entry. TickM sets the end time and calculates duration. |
| Add entry manually | Use Add entry — set start/end or duration, project, task key, and description. |
| Edit entry | Click an entry to open the edit dialog. Change times, project, task key, or description. |
| Split entry | Open split on an entry (minimum ~2 minutes). Drag the split point — the left segment keeps original details; the right gets a new task key. |
| Delete entry | Delete with confirmation from the entry menu or edit dialog. |
| Browse days | Use the date picker to view entries and the daily timeline for any day. |
| Popular entries | Re-log from your recent patterns with one click. |
| Daily time report | Optional email-style summary dialog for the selected day. |
Manager views (Team+)
Managers can review team time on the Time Entries grid and Manager Dashboard for broader visibility across users and projects.
Via MCP (Pro)
On Pro, AI assistants can search, add, edit, and delete your time entries. A running timer is an entry with no end time. There is no dedicated split tool — split by editing times or adding a second entry. See MCP documentation.
